According to the Prometheus News Website, Prometheus 2 is a go. A tentative release date is for March 2016, and noted elsewhere is filming will start in August.
The biggest news is that Michael will be back as David. In fact, there will be more "Davids" in the next film. Don't know if we can handle more than one David, but we're excited to hear about this sequel.
The French film magazine, Premiere, has the X-men cast on the cover this month.

So, now that most of the major award shows are over and everyone has come to terms with the winners and "not-winners" it is time to move on. More films are coming our way and we need to continue enjoying Michael's work.
First, congrats to all the awards that "12 Years A Slave" won. By now, cinephiles already know, so no use repeating. We're happy for Steve, Michael, Lupita, Chiwetel, and the rest of the cast and crew. Much deserved. Michael appeared with his sister at the Independent Spirit Awards and the Oscars with his mother.
Second, the film is out on DVD, just in time for the excitement of the awards to continue. We haven't seen it so we cannot comment, yet.
Third, one of the last awards is out and your vote counts. MTV Movie Awards, where you can vote for best picture, best actor, best actress, and best villain, where "12 Years A Slave" are involved. Michael has been nominated as best villain and from what we've heard, he's really ugly onscreen.
Fourth, Michael is still working on MacBeth in Scotland and England.

Lastly, "Frank" had a showing at SXSW. It had been screen at Palm Springs Film Festival and Sundance last year. Here is the official trailer:
The reviews are good and Michael's performance has been described as ''truly shines in a role that keeps his well-known mug off screen and hidden behind the fake head." Review It is not a film for everyone, but if you like quirkiness, odd music, and great performances, "Frank" is a film to be watched. We'll be looking forward to a release in our area.

Won Best Film and Chiwetel won for Best Actor. Congrats to the winners!
Michael, Best Supporting Actor nominee did not win. We were disappointed in not seeing or hearing his win, but that's ok. Michael's best is still yet to come. He's still a top wanted actor and as long as he keeps bringing in the fans, awards doesn't mean much. Awards are only made from a few, minority groups telling people what they thought was good. Awards are subjective, which is our favorite word of the time. Awards are the opinions of few. It doesn't weigh in the hearts and minds of those fans who enjoy their favorites' works. It doesn't necessarily pay the bills. A lot of great actors have made a career without ever getting an award. And there is the other side. Many who do win, never get another big opportunity. There are theories about the awards and the statistics that can show that it really doesn't matter. It's nice to be recognized, but it doesn't always give you the work you want.
Instead, lets bask in the picturesque offerings from the show:

We learn that Michael will be filming a new project called "Trespass Against Us."
So, who really cares if Michael wins an award? Fans know he is worth more than an award that is forgotten at the next award show.
You gotta love pictures, because they definitely tell the story of what's to come. Last month, some great pictures from "X-Men: First Class" came out and boy, what a show that was! But in the end, the pictures are a great sneak peek to what we can expect from the film.
Michael and James are looking great as the two leads of this film.
Even as we write, the film is still being shot in L.A. or surrounding areas, while editing is being done. Remember, this is expected to be released on June 3, 2011. Of course, what we all want now is a trailer, to really see what's been going on with all the filming.
During the release of these photos, James was promoting "Gnomeo and Juliet", briefly talking about his role in the film. You can read James' thoughts about his work here and here.
Also, with the release of these photos, an interview with Michael about his role as Magneto, surfaced on MSN.
MSN: What drew you to play this character and take on the challenge of assuming a role established by Ian McKellen?
Michael Fassbender: Hopefully I won't disappoint the fan base out there, because I know that what Ian McKellen did sort of latched onto a lot of imaginations and was very successful. But what drew me was the script and Matthew Vaughn and the fact that James McAvoy was going to be playing young Xavier. I thought it was a fresh take on the whole story. I've never been a big comic book enthusiast, but I thought it was an interesting concept to go back to when they were both friends and initially came together.
After you signed on for the role, did a box come in the mail packed with hundreds of "X-Men" comics for you to peruse?
Yes, it did, and I got knee-deep into them once I got involved. That was all my source material, because it's all there in the comic books in terms of a backstory and formulating the character. I did also watch the other films and took notes from those, but took most of my references from the comic books.
As someone coming to this from a sort of open perspective and not really being a fan, what did you learn about this character?
He's such a complex character, really, and the idea of him being a villain is interesting considering his history (Lehnsherr is a Holocaust survivor who lost his family in the camps, and later lost his wife and daughter) ... he's a very solitary individual, and the pain and grief that's gone on even before we meet him in this film is an interesting pool of information to draw from, in coming up with this Machiavellian character for whom the ends justified the means. You can see where he's coming from. Human beings don't have the greatest track record in what they've done throughout history, so his point of view is, "Well, we are the next stage of evolution -- (humans) are to us what Neanderthals were to Homo sapiens."
He's always been a fascinating character because he's not completely wrong, but thinks that everything he does is right, no matter what the cost.
He's an extremist, and that's always a dangerous place to be. By the time we leave him at the end of this movie, he's become very clear about what he wants and his decisions and his game plan.
Early word on the movie's story line draws parallels between Xavier and Lehnsherr and Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X in terms of the methods they use to achieve their goals. Did that comparison come out for you while making the film?
You don't set out to play these things that way, but it's a good parallel to have in the back of one's mind, as something to take from real life as a reference. I didn't study any Malcolm X videos or anything like that. But it clarifies where both these characters are coming from. Hopefully by the end of the film, the audience is like, "Damn, why didn't these two guys stay together?" They have enough in common and not in common to keep each other in check, and hopefully the audience will feel like they could have worked together for the greater good.
The words "reboot" and "prequel" are thrown around so much these days, and are sometimes even used interchangeably. Is this a reboot of the entire "X-Men" franchise, or a true prequel where you could watch this and then sit down and watch the three earlier films and see a connection?
I think the fundamentals are the same. The main thread of the story is still the same. I don't really know how to answer the question because I haven't seen this one yet, so I haven't had a chance to watch it side by side with the other ones and see if they're relative to each other. Hopefully they are, I think, but also we want to do something fresh as well and open a whole new chapter with this without totally betraying what was laid down before.
One of the criticisms of "X-Men: The Last Stand" (2006) was that a lot of mutant characters were jammed into the film, introduced and then never developed. There are a lot of mutants in this film as well, but from your perspective are they handled better here?
The cool thing about this movie is that I think it does deal with each individual mutant, and the ones they've chosen are all very much individuals and unique personalities with unique gifts. What's interesting is that we've gone back to a period where the mutants don't know that there are other people out there like them. They just think they're freaks and outcasts from society ... all of these new characters are fearful of their gifts and uncomfortable and misplaced in society, so hopefully when they all sort of come together and realize they're not alone and feel more comfortable in their own skin, that's a discovery for all the characters that you experience.
The film is set in the '60s and Vaughn has said he wanted to capture a certain look -- specifically referencing the James Bond films of that era. He has also said that the costumes will be more like the comics' versions and not the black rubber look of the other "X-Men" films. Can you comment on both of those ideas?
There's a scene where they just sort of transformed this hall in London into Buenos Aires Airport, and I just looked around this mock airport and said to myself, "My God, I've just had a feeling of being in the '60s." From the colors to the costume designs to the production design itself, there's a sort of nostalgia in the air when you look around the room. It's just from my own perception of the '60s, and all that came with it in terms of the music and the fashions and so forth, but all of that comes across in the visual references that we all have. All of that is there to encapsulate the feeling of that era, for sure.
As for our costumes, we went back and forth on so many things. We added things that worked in the comics, took them away again, and stripped them down again. ... When it came to the Magneto suit, you know, there's various stages of what has been done with it, but you will have something that is traditional to the comics. There is a helmet (laughs), which is of course essential to keep Charlie-boy out of my head, and the colors are also kept traditional to the comics, that sort of red and purple. I don't know if I'm giving you too much, but I'll say it anyway (laughs).
Fans of the "X-Men" franchise were not completely happy with the way that the third film, "X-Men: The Last Stand," was handled, even though it was financially successful, and there were grumblings about the "Wolverine" film as well. Is there a sense that you've set out to earn back the fans' trust with this one?
I certainly hope so. My face is gonna be up there and my name is gonna be attached to it. I've got a lot of faith in Matthew, and everyone is very passionate and working very hard to earn back any trust that's waned a little bit from the last film.
This interview is one of the first of the early stages of prerelease publicity for the film, which has been kept very much under wraps until now. Any other thoughts that you want to get out there about the movie at this point?
Well, I just hope that this and some of the photos that are being released will whet the fans' appetites for the summer. Hopefully they'll be excited.
It looks like Michael has a pretty good grasp on playing Magneto, don't you think?

Being that the film will be a limited release (DARN!), it will be released in NYC and L.A. first, and then spread out to the rest of the country. We hope it finds a place near you, because this is a film you shouldn't miss.
In more Jane news, a new version of the novel will be released right before the film is released. The new novel will include production notes from the film, with the cover promoting the new film. We are completely excited about this, because we hope that just as we read this book in school, that this version will make it into the schools one day. We will definitely add this to our collection.

Michael's next project, after "Shame" will be "Prometheus" with director Ridley Scott (of Aliens). An interesting project if we do say so.
Michael's character is an android, named David. According to IndieMoviesOnline.com, David "is an android crew member. He will be some sort of forebear of the Bishop 341-B character, played by Lance Henriksen in Aliens and Alien3. As the character has been compared to Bishop and not the traitorous Ash, played by Ian Holm, we are presuming that the other crew members will be aware of his origins. This is the role that Fassbender has signed up for."
We're guessing that filming will start after promotions for "X-Men" is done, around early summer. Here's more about film locations: "Part of the film will be shot in Morocco. I’ve heard that some sort of archaeological dig where they discover alien DNA takes place there and that DNA gives them the coordinates for an alien world. I’ve also heard Morocco is being used for alien planet landscapes so I’m not sure if it’s an archaeological dig on another planet." Source

There's still some more characters to cast, but for right now, it's Michael and Noomi Repace as the lead female in the film. We'll be waiting to hear who else comes aboard for this space trip.

For those who watched "Hunger" and followed Steve McQueen's work throughout the process, minimalistic is common in his film work. The first poster for "Hunger" was just a half black, half white poster with a quote from the film. The second poster for "Hunger" featured the feces painted wall.
Minimal.
But minimal says a lot. It gets your mind going and thinking, what exactly is this about? What time in my life do I remember being in that position? Or others?
This film will start production in January, pretty much right after X-Men is done. It's one project after another for some time now.
It didn't take long for the studios to put out a trailer for "Jane Eyre". In fact, it was the very next day after the poster was revealed on Monday.

We've been holding our breath with this film, because so many naysayers weren't sure about Michael's ability to portray such a brooding, mad character. If you've read our earlier posts about Michael's talent, you know that we've been trying to make people understand that he's done this before. We knew he'd 'hit it out of the park' as we say in the states.
And he does.
People all over the place have been sharing their thoughts about how great Michael looks and performs in just this little snippet of film.
We're very happy fans.
We knew he could do it. There was no doubt in our minds.
Many film enthusiasts, who have been following Michael's career recently, chimed in their excitement. Most Jane Eyre book purist also expressed their anxiousness in seeing this 'gothic' tale.
We are relieved.
Now, we just have to wait for the film to hit theaters.

We went around thinking, maybe a poster?
When we got online, we saw various news sites post about the new item:
a poster...with a little peek at Michael's look as Rochester.
(we're two for two now, wishing for something and having it come true-see previous post for Fable III...hmmm).
We think that Michael's character is going to be somewhat of a secret surprise until studios or promotions put out stills.
It's a very simplistic poster, which we like. It's very mysterious like the story itself. We like that it does somewhat feature Michael's profile. We don't think there would be happy fans if Michael was left out from the first poster. It's also protrays a beautiful profile of Mia as Jane.
The film comes out March 11, 2011, but don't worry. In a few months, or sooner, we'll start hearing about promotions, maybe interviews or something like the press junket/'premiere' for "Fish Tank" in NYC. We hope it gets more of a promotion because Mia is better known by film enthusiasts.
Other things to note in the Michael world:
"Centurion" and "Jonah Hex" have been released in the states on dvd/blu-ray. "Fable III" has been released in the states, UK and Japan. "Jonah Hex" will available in the UK on dvd/blu-ray on December 27. Order all these and more through MFO's Amazon store (region 1 items) and Amazon Shoppe (region 2 items).
